June 9 - 27: Broadway Your Way

Monologues, songs, stage makeup, combat, and more!

In our class, you’ll learn all the tools you need to act on Broadway! For stage makeup, we’ll learn the basics, master contouring, and even learn how to create special FX using basic makeup kits (which will be provided). Special workshops in blood, gore, bones, zombies, faeries, witches, goblins, and more! You’ll also learn monologues. Learn how to choose, practice, and perform monologues in every genre – from Shakespeare to Lin-Manuel Miranda. Plus, you’ll get lessons on how to beat the living daylights out of fellow actors without anyone getting hurt! It’s safety first in this class that studies dynamic partner relationships through fun, creative “fight” choices. This class provides all the tools for participants to explore and practice the basics of stage fighting. You’ll even learn a song with focused attention just on you! Stay tuned for dates for a performance to showcase your skills.

It’s the cornerstone for any experienced actor. It’s also a lot of fun!

July 7 - 18: The Play’s the Thing!

Newly-created one-act play

Put your skills into action from Broadway Your Way! It’s a resume (and college application) building experience.

We’ll have a 10(ish)-minute, newly created play ready for your teens. Funny, poignant, and crafted by the playwright Stan Matthews (known throughout the Pacific Northwest), this play will ensure everyone is showcased while making the learning process (and play) fun! Bonus: We’ll be able to take this play on the road so teens can perform in front of multiple audiences in various venues.
